Moving from structural and glued-up artwork into sewing.  Like "My First Rug" a 42" birdbath. I wanted to find the limits of possibilities when it came to sewing.

Scale has always been one of my great loves because with scale comes Labor. Scale and Labor create and simultaneously hide imperfections.

​

With a love of recurring numbers like Pi and Phi which present themselves frequently in past works. Along with the broken repetition frequently found in jazz music, when I learned about Penrose tiling(explained) developed by mathematician Roger Penrose and his past association with MC Escher. I knew I had my Crazy boundary-pushing project.
